April Event Information

We look forward to your visit to the Kiso Toy Museum.

Held on April 1st (Tue), 4th (Fri), and 5th (Sat)


Miso making workshop Soybeans from Nagano Prefecture are crushed and mixed with koji and salt from Kiso.
We convey the deliciousness of handmade miso.

Dates: March 23rd (Sun), 24th (Mon), 27th (Thurs) - 30th (Sun), 2025
April 1st (Tuesday), 4th (Friday), 5th (Saturday), 2025

Cost: 1,500 yen for the experience + 1,000 yen per kg of miso
3kg 4,500 yen, 5kg 6,500 yen, 10kg 11,500 yen, 15kg 16,500 yen, 20kg 21,500 yen, 30kg 31,500 yen *Example) 5kg is 6,500 yen (experience fee 1,500 yen + miso 5kg 5,000 yen)
* Applications must be made for 3kg or more.

Time: Reception 10:00, Seminar 10:30-13:00
What to bring: Apron, bandana, mask, towel, food processing gloves, takeaway bucket (food processing gloves are also available for purchase)

Capacity: 5-20 people (applications are closed when the maximum weight is 270 kg per day)
Application: Reservations open at 8:30 on March 1st, up to 3 days before the desired experience date

Schoolbag Origami Workshop Time: ①11:00 ②13:30
Fee: 100 yen Registration: On the day (10 groups per session)
Venue: Experience Room "Training Room"



Held on Sunday, April 13th

Time: Anytime Venue: Omocha no Yakata 1st floor near the stage Fee: 200 yen (admission fee is charged separately)

Held on Saturday, April 19th

Staff from the main building, who are all certified Kendama instructors, will provide you with detailed instruction and advice.
Time: ①11:00 ②14:00
Venue: Toy Shop 1st floor "Kendama Square"
Fee: 100 yen for the certificate (admission fee is charged separately)
Application: No prior application is required.
Please come directly to the venue on the day.
Target audience: Beginners welcome Other: Kendama available for rental



Held on Sunday, April 20th


Toy Hospital Hours: 10:00-16:00 (reception until 14:00)
Cost: Repairs are free of charge, but part replacement etc. will be at actual cost.
Location: Experience Room "Training Room"
Other: "Toy Hospital" will be held once a month by volunteer toy doctors affiliated with the Japan Toy Hospital Association.
Up to three items can be accepted per person.
Some toys are difficult to repair, so please consult a Toy Doctor.
Please come and collect any toys that are needed during hospitalization at a later date. (We will keep them for three months.)
