Entrance

There is a reception desk for the Taiken no Yakata and Toy no Yakata, as well as information about the local area.
At the entrance, visitors are greeted by a row of Kisoma blocks made by people who have donated money and
become Ichibu-kancho (one-time museum directors).

Main Entrance

A map of the site is available in front of the entrance.
This map uses wooden panels that were used at the former Furusato Experience Museum Kisofukushi.
Passing through the entrance leads to a reception area with a warm wooden feel.

Supporters' Board

On the supporters' board at the entrance are blocks of wood inscribed with
the names of the “Ichiguchi Kancho”, the donors who support the operation.
Anyone can become a ‘One-Minute Curator’ at any time. For more information, see the ‘Volunteering and donation’ page.
You are invited to display the Kiso Horse Building Blocks on the building blocks in your name and
together you can complete the landscape of the Kiso Horses!

Please contact the ‘Contact us’ desk in advance for more information.

Experience Workshop

This is also where you can use the crafts and handicraft experience that continues

Textile workshop

This is the place for weaving and dyeing experiences, which have been very popular since the days of
the Furusato Taikenkan.

Toy Museum

The inside of the hotel is wrapped in Kiso hinoki cypress, the forest spreads out when you look through the window, and a babbling brook murmurs in your ear. If you look up, you will see the Kiso Road stretching out before your eyes. Just like the inn towns where people used to come and go, people and people and toys meet each other. This is truly a small Kiso Valley. A fun space awaits you!

symbol tree

The symbol tree of the Kiso Toy Museum is made of Kiso cypress, which is over 250 years old.
Craftsmen's skills shine through in each step of the process from felling to installation.

Children's Kiso Road

Kiso's inn towns have watched over travelers since ancient times.
Here, as if traveling along the Kiso Road, a variety of playful encounters await.
Eleven play corners are scattered along the path from the entrance of the toy playground to the stage.

Baby Mokuiku Hiroba

A room for children aged 0 to 2 years old and their parents, where you can spend a relaxing time
while listening to the murmuring of the river.
*This room is designed for small children, so children over 3 years old are not allowed to use it.

Norimono no Hiroba

Visitors can play on wooden rails with rides that resemble
Kiso horses and Ontake Kotsu buses.

Kiso Gokko Farm

At the “Kiso Gokko Farm” on the second floor, visitors can enjoy playing with harvested vegetables
and fruits such as apples, mushrooms, corn, and red turnips, all of which are commonly harvested
in Kiso Town and Nagano Prefecture. Visitors can also enjoy comparing the different colors and sizes of the vegetables.

Gokko Shop

Visitors can experience a pizza shop, sushi shop, and soba (buckwheat noodle) shop.
Children can think of their own pizza toppings and sushi items, or they can become customers.
The soba shop is the first of its kind to be introduced at the Toy Museum.

Good Toy Plaza

Every year, more than 10,000 new toys are sold, but many of them soon stop being sold.
In the toy market, good toys (Good Toys) that are loved by people for a long time are selected every year.
Good Toys of the past are on display, and visitors can actually pick them up and play with them.

Game Cafe

Popular board games are displayed on tables facing each other.
Visitors can enjoy tabletop games from around the world, ranging from win-lose competitions to cooperative efforts to clear the board.
